Our Life… & Work… Part XVII

Circumstances don’t move me. What people may say about me, doesn’t move me. What moves me is how God thinks about me and in the end, that is all that really matters. The praise of man or the criticism of man is not what drives my car. What puts gas in my tank is the Word of God. His Word moves me. His Word strengthens me. His Word upholds me and keeps me grounded. I strive to do things right, to have those around me notice the difference maker in me. I think it is important to have a good reputation but my confidence, my self-esteem, my self-worth does not come from them it comes from what God thinks and has said about me.

This is what I believe and confidently declare!

Psalms 119:9 (NIV) How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word.

Psalms 119:15-16 (NKJV) I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Psalms 119:33-34 (NKJV) Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end. 34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

Psalms 119:57 (NKJV) You are my portion, O Lord; I have said that I would keep Your words.

Psalms 119:105 (NKJV) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Our Life… & Work… Part XVI

Why settle? No really, why settle for anything less than God’s absolute best. I’ve now made my mind up to no longer settle for anything…because in Christ, I don’t need to, for greater is He who is IN me, then he who is in the world. I am more than a conqueror through Christ and rather than settling for second best in my life, I’m pressing in toward the prize of the upward call of Christ. Good enough can no longer be good enough cause that’s settling. I’m now striving to do my best and to always put my best foot forward. I won’t strive for perfection, rather, I’ll strive to do my best and then some.

1 John 4:4 (ESV) Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Romans 8:37 (ESV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV) Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Philippians 4:13 (ESV) I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Our Life… & Work… Part XV

God, my God is my great strength and through Him I can do all things. My strength will not wane, even when I’m old, I’ll be as strong as an ox and my health will be secure in Him. Yes, my body is strong. My mind is strong and my spirit is strong. I am strong through Christ and through Him nothing shall be impossible. My feet do not slip. When I’m in a difficult place, my footing will be secure. Nothing or nobody will dissuade me from accomplishing great things, for my trust is fully in Christ who is my strength, the horn of my salvation and my stronghold.

This is what I believe & confidently declare!

Habakkuk 3:19 (ESV) God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.

Our Life… & Work… Part XIV

Depression, despondency, and despair have no place in my life, for I put my hope in the Lord and Him do I praise all day long. My hope is firmly placed in the creator of the universe, in the ruler of it all, in the God of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. For God is my stronghold in times of trouble, He delivers me from the wicked and keeps me safe from those who would do me, my family and my friends harm. His precious and great Word guides me into truth and steers me away from trouble. I will praise Him all the days of my life and worship Him always.

This is what I believe and confidently declare!

Psalms 37:39-40 (ESV) The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble. 40 The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.

Our Life… & Work… Part XIII

I am as bold as a lion for my confidence is not in the flesh but in the strength of my Lord. Fear does not grip me for the Lord is my confidence, thus, my feet do not slip. Yes, fear of man, of ruin, of stumbling is far from me for I only fear the Lord and with that comes great confidence. I can step out to follow the leading of the Lord because my confidence is firmly planted in the Lord whom I fully trust. I will do what the Spirit leads me to do and have great success because my confidence is in the greatness of my God who is in me.

This is what I believe and confidently declare!

Psalms 18:33 (NIV) He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.

Psalms 42:1-2 (NKJV) As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

Our Life…& Work… Part XII

My God is a good, good God and I am loved by Him. If I have to repeat that statement 20x in a day in order to convince myself…then I will. For that is who God is and who I am. God is love and I am loved by Him. Nothing else really matters. The God of the universe, the great God…the only God, loves me and pulls me toward Him. Wow! That’s who He is and that is who I am. He gave His very best to purchase me as His own. I accepted that gracious gift and now I have been adopted, grafted into His family. What a privilege and great honor, I am forever grateful and full of exuberant praise.

This is what I believe and confidently declare!

1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you.
