Oneness

Ephesians 4:4-6 (ESV)There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Oneness defines the New Testament church. As members of the body of Christ, this Oneness is our crest – our family symbol. There is perfect unity in the Godhead Trinity. Perfect unity in the heavenlies and there should be perfect unity amongst us. I know, it’s hard to achieve Oneness with…._______, but you’ll strive for it none-the-less. After all, this is our heritage. Oneness is within our DNA. And just in case you’ve ever wondered, as v6 declares, there is only ONE God. All other so called gods that people around us worship, are but imaginative. Born again believers in Jesus Christ serve the ONE true God and personally I don’t care one bit if that statement is not popular or politically correct. There Is No god, Like Our God and if folk don’t like it…well…”get over it”.

That’s it for this topic. I trust it blessed you. Next up…UNLEASHED!

God is in our midst

Deuteronomy 7:17-21 (ESV)“If you say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I. How can I dispossess them?’ 18 you shall not be afraid of them but you shall remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt, 19 the great trials that your eyes saw, the signs, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which the Lord your God brought you out. So will the Lord your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20 Moreover, the Lord your God will send hornets among them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you are destroyed. 21 You shall not be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God.

What a great reminder. The Lord our God is in our midst. What He did in the past in looking out for us, in watching over us, in ousting our enemies…He continues to do today. The key? Reread v17. It’s what you believe. Your inner talk reveals what you believe or…what you struggle with to believe. In fact, there is something super revealing about this. If you say or think things like… “How can I disposes them”, the scripture implies…”You Can’t”. Friends, we have clearly come to know that “There is No god, Like Our God” don’t then allow doubt to creep in. Keep your focus on the greatness of God. On the victories He previously fought and won for you and move forward in faith believing like Moses believed “that God is in our midst, a great and awesome God”.

Filled with all the fullness of God

Ephesians 3:14-19 (ESV)For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Wow! “Filled with all the fullness of God!” Seems almost surreal. You and I as children of God, through faith in Christ, “filled with all the fullness of God”. Can it be? Is this true? Cause God is…well, God. There is No god, Like Our God. How then could we be “Filled with all the fullness of God”? Moses couldn’t stand even in His presence on the mount. How then could we be “Filled with all the fullness of God”? Colossians 2:9-10 basically says the same thing; “For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority”. Well, it starts with Christ who makes us worthy and capable to handle this infilling. Next, walking in the love of Christ causes us to be strong and pliable enough to house God’s fullness. It starts with Christ and ends with love. And not just any ole type of love, but the love of Christ. The key to all of this is saving faith. First, believe in Christ. Next, accept this infilling as your own and third, walk in love. If you’ve accepted Christ, then move on to two and three. If you haven’t then do so right now and begin a journey that will turn your world right side up.

God is Near

Deu 4:7 (ESV) For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him?

Don’t you love that? What people has a God so near? The answer, we do? You and I as born again believers, along with the children of Israel have God so near. How near? In us – it doesn’t get nearer than that. The great God of Israel. The God who performed the miracles in Egypt is in us. The God who answered Elijah by fire is in us. The God who pushed back David’s enemies and defeat Israel’s foes is in every born again believer. And did you catch what else this verse says? He is near whenever we call upon Him. This tells me that we have to call upon God more and more. If we feel God is not near or doesn’t care or isn’t listening, maybe just maybe it’s because we haven’t called upon Him. I don’t mean, mouthing a prayer at meal times or giving Him a few minutes while you drive to work. I mean, putting aside time in your day to truly spend time with Him, to call upon Him. If we do, when we do, then we will begin to feel God nearer than ever before. Give it a whirl and experience for yourself what I’m saying. For once you’ve experienced Him afresh, you’ll boldly and proud shout…There is No god, Like Our God!

Released from Spiritual Egypt

Jos 24:17 (NKJV) For the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed.

We may not have been brought out of the literal land of Egypt, but we have been brought out of spiritual Egypt and for that we give God praise. For the Christian, Egypt represents our lives before Christ and each of us has our unique story of what our Egypt was like with God on our behalf, pulling off some awesome miracles in our redemptive story. Some of us were drug addicts, alcoholics, extremely selfish or prideful. Others were depressed and even demonically controlled, yet, God through Christ saved us. He pulled us out of our bondage and gave us a new and much better residence. Not only that but as this verse says, He preserves us – keeping us safe and secure in Him. Yes, friends, we serve a great and awesome God. This is why we can shout from the roof tops… “There is No god, Like Our God.”
