Romans 13:1 (ESV) Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
James 1:5 (ESV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Here we are approaching the final days of the election campaign. Have you cast your ballot yet? If not, do you need a good dose of the wisdom James talked about? In this post or in any other for that matter, I will not tell you which party to vote for but I will encourage you to seek God and to lean upon His wisdom. Here’s a question for you, one that the media never considers. Where does our Christian faith come into play in our voting decisions? Should our Christian moral ethic be considered helping to form and shape our decision? Where do the parties stand on the issues which should be important to Christians? I believe that Biblical ethics is just as important as national security, health care and the economy. Friends, if there ever was a time when the church needs wisdom, it’s now. Not only do we need the wisdom which comes from heaven (not our heads) for matters pertaining to our country but regarding reaching a lost country. Yes, our great country has an extremely low Christian Evangelical rate – less than 7% of the populace claim to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That means, 93% of the country are lost and heading to hell. Ouch! Please pray with me…“God help us to know how to effectively reach the lost in this great country. To know how to uphold your worth in Rideau Hall and grant us the boldness and fortitude, we’ll need to stand tall in the midst of the spiritual chaos we may face in the days ahead. Amen!”
