Glass Half Full People

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 (ESV)

Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

Unleashed on purpose for a purpose! You and I as born again believers have been destined to live like this. As this portion of scripture states; we have been Unleashed to live a life of continual rejoicing – glass half full people, not half empty. We are to live in continual communion with God and to be thankful always (sounds like the type of people I want to hang with). Along the way in life’s journey we must be careful not to grieve the Holy Spirit (if you live the above, you’ll know when you have) and to not despise the Spirit of God as He moves through people (again, if you live the above, you’ll spot a phoney a mile away). We must also remember that we have been Unleashed from evil, thus there will be no desire at all to jump back into it. Yup, Unleashed on purpose for a purpose – our lives shining so bright for Christ that those around us would want also want what we have; Christ in you, our hope of glory.
