Psalms 63:1 (ESV) O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
When your life has been profoundly changed through a revelation that “There Is No god, Like Our God”, then you’ll understand what Psalms is all about. You will say along with David, “O God, you are my God” because you’ve been transformed by Him. You will longingly say, “earnestly I seek you” because your love for Him, your respect for Him and your honor of Him demands it. Your “soul will thirst for Him” because…there is no other who could satisfy its thirst. Your “flesh will faint for Him” in that it feels weak without a deep connection with Him, especially in a place where there is not much else around to quench a man’s thirst. Which brings me to an interesting hypothesis; could the reason you feel weak and weary be because you haven’t been spending the necessary time connecting with God? Humm…might be worth some experimentation. Such as; over the next 2 weeks, up your prayer time (the time you spend before God – without distraction) and chart if your energy levels changes (please let me know your discovery).
