Glorious Ruins

Matthew 16:15-18 (NKJV) He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

That statement from our Lord set in motion a movement that has never stopped. “On this rock I will build my church” – the revelation of who Christ was. Is this not the very revelation that drew you to your knees? The revelation of who Christ was is what caused you to make a 180 with your life. It set in motion a passion within you to do all you can to live in such a way that would bring Him honor. It caused you to forsake your wicked ways, to walk away from destructive habits and begin to live a life free from the shackles of sin. Yes friends, this same revelation Peter had, you and I had and and as a result we have been forever ruined to anything other than Christ. Notice something…not once did I mention a building. Church is not a building, rather it is a gathering of like minded people who have been forever ruined to anything but Christ. And…this is super important…who become passionate about doing all they can, to ensure others experience this glorious ruin. This friends is why “there is No god, Like Our God”, for only the most high God could have come up with such a glorious revelation.
