1 Chronicles 12:1-2 (NKJV) Now these were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, helpers in the war, 2 armed with bows, using both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows with the bow. They were of Benjamin, Saul’s brethren.
Now it may not seem like much to hurl stones with your left hand and right or in slinging a bow with either, but you have to be something special to do it with accuracy. Serious. Go out into the field, find a target, pick up 10 stones and throw five at the target with each hand and then tell me how you did. And remember, at this time in history, there were no submachine guns, laser guided missiles or modern weaponry for hand to hand combat. Swords, knives, bows and stones were the weapons of choice and if you had on your team men who could use both hands equally as well, you had the advantage. Friends, this is what connection with God does, He gives us the advantage. He equips us for the battle at hand. This is why, “There Is No god, Like Our God”, He gives us the advantage over our enemies and in the day and age we live in, we can use every advantage we can muster.
