Love poured out

Ephesians 2:4-6 (ESV) But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

You and I, before Christ were dead. Our trespasses (sin) caused us to be estranged from God and it took a great act of grace to pull us back. This is an important aspect of our faith that we must never forget – we were once dead. Obviously, not physically but spiritually dead. And as we see here, Christ Unleashed us, repositioning us to be seated with Him. One minute, due to our sin, we were as far from God as possible and the next, after we accepted Christ and received forgiveness of our sin, we were seated next to Christ, who sits next to God. I mean come on, it doesn’t get any better than this! A complete change of position, all due to an act of faith on our part and an act of grace from Christ. Our simple act of faith, in believing in Christ as our Saviour, Unleashed a grace that forever changed us. This my friends is love, the love of God poured out on you when you didn’t deserve it but given none-the-less.
