Non-stick living

Acts 5:34-39 (ESV) But a Pharisee in the council named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in honor by all the people, stood up and gave orders to put the men outside for a little while. 35 And he said to them, “Men of Israel, take care what you are about to do with these men. 36 For before these days Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. 37 After him Judas the Galilean rose up in the days of the census and drew away some of the people after him. He too perished, and all who followed him were scattered. 38 So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail; 39 but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!” So they took his advice.

I love v39, “If it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them”. This is one of those awesome “screen shots” sayings. A memorization moment. A verse that will carry you through anything and everything the enemy may throw at you. In fact, I’m not only going to use this verse as a prayer and proclamation scripture over my life but over the church. For example; I’d pray something like this…”Father, I thank you for the force of your Word, I thank you that your Word is ‘quick and powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword’. Father, I take your Word and proclaim it over the body of believers at Victory Life Church saying, ‘we are of God, thus, the enemy will not be able to overthrow us. Everything he has thrown at us, shall not stick because you said, it won’t overthrow us. You also said in your Word that ‘no weapon formed against us shall prosper’ and ‘that we are the head, not the tail, we are going over and not under’. So, I thank you Father for the promise of your Word, a promise that is sure and secure. A promise we can rely upon. I pray and declare this in Jesus Name. Amen!'” Now repeat over your life and have a great day! (This by the way…is a picture of the power of an Unleashed life.)
