Day 18 – Word of Knowledge

Acts 9:10-12 (NIV ) In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision,“Ananias!” “Yes, Lord,” he answered. 11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

The Word of Knowledge is a supernatural revelation by the Spirit of God concerning certain facts that only God would know – facts concerning either the present or the past.

This vision of Ananias contains specific information of places presently known and of people presently in need and was also very precise – “Go to this house, on this street and see this guy”. Only God knew this and choose to reveal it to Ananias through the Gifts of the Spirit. Other examples in scripture would be John’s vision while on the Isle of Patmos. He saw the state of the 7 Churches in Asia Minor -specific things about those churches in their present and future state that only God Himself would know. Another would be when the Prophet Samuel told Saul were His Daddy’s donkey were – He knew precisely where they were.

Demonic impersonations of this gift are: Clairvoyance or psychics. See, everything the devil does, is stolen from God. He mimics the Kingdom of God in an attempt to be like God and…to try to pull the wool over the eyes of God’s people. If he can make us see double, he’ll confuse us and with confusion comes doubt. Let’s then put doubt to bay, confuse confusion and begin to see God’s Kingdom with single vision as we continue to discover the wonder of the Gifts of the Spirit.
