Day 19 – Word of Wisdom

Acts 23:11 (ESV) The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage, for as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must testify also in Rome.”

Acts 27:9-10 (ESV) Since much time had passed, and the voyage was now dangerous because even the Fast was already over, Paul advised them, 10 saying, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

The Word of Wisdom is a supernatural revelation by the spirit of God concerning the divine purpose and plan of God regarding future events – it looks to the plan of God for the future. In both of the above situations, Paul operated in the Word of Wisdom. Words of Wisdom can warn people of impending danger; of future judgement and of God’s purpose for their future. Many prophecies can have an element of the Word of Wisdom, if it outlines God’s plan and purpose for the future.

The devil’s counterfeit is: Tarot card reading; Palm reading; Fortune tellers; Mediums and the like.

As God through the Gifts of the Spirit begins to drop or download into us Words of Wisdom, He essentially keeps us one step or two ahead of our enemy and friends, we can certainly use some of that. Also, through Words of Wisdom we are reminded of God’s great concern and care for us in that He is thinking about our future.
