Day 10 – God’s hovercraft

Genesis 1:1-5 (ESV)
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
Notice in v2, that the Holy Spirit of God was at work with God in the creation process. This is an important introduction to Him for it outlines His main role – He hovers over all that God does…over all of God’s creative purposes. The Joy of a Spirit-Filled Life is knowing that God’s creative agent, the Holy Spirit, is present hovering over our lives. He ensures that God’s design or purposes for our lives are caught. He (now catch this) hovers over God’s creation. You and I are God’s creation and the we can have assurance knowing the Spirit of God watches over us.
