Day 18 – The Day of Pentecost

Act 2:1-4 (ESV)
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Okay…here it is. The day the early church had been waiting for. They obeyed their Saviour and stayed and waited and prayed and waited…they didn’t quite know what to expect, but after all, Jesus did say something cool was going to happen (maybe He didn’t use that exact term…but you get the drift). And the day finally arrived, a day we have coined as – The Day of Pentecost. The Day (I know…over use of the word ‘day’) the Holy Spirit rocked their world – turning it rightside up. I recall the day I received the infilling of the Spirit, it forever changed my world. This after all is the Spirit’s purpose, to transform each and every Christian. Please allow Him to do so in your life! I’m totally serious. Allow for the Spirit of God to first, have an entrance into your life, then second, to fill you with a fresh wave of power that accompanies His presence. (BTW – today is officially, Pentecost Sunday or the Day of Pentecost)
