Acts 13:1-3 (NLT)
Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called “the black man”), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul. 2 One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” 3 So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.
I love what was going here. The boys were connecting with God through worship and fasting and something marvelous happened, the Holy Spirit showed up. Side note: Worship, prayer, fasting, etc…positions you for a breakthrough. The Holy Spirit showed up because He wanted to validate the ministry call on Saul and Barney. And friends, I am strongly sensing the Holy Spirit about to the same thing in this generation with many of those in our churches. A great send out is about to occur – a Serengeti migration of God’s people being handpicked by the Holy Spirit and sent out by the church. This is what the Joy of a Spirit-Filled Life is all about, one I am grateful to have been a part of, as many years ago I was pulled aside by the Spirit of God, then thrust out by my local church to effect change all around me.
