Day 4 – Comfort when we need it the most

John 14:23-26 (ESV)
Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. 25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
The Holy Spirit is commissioned by the Father to be our helper. Imagine, the Spirit of the living God sent to help you. To be with you as you trudge through life. Wow! And that word ‘helper’ is defined in the Greek as: [paraklētos] meaning an intercessor, consoler, advocate or comforter. The Spirit of God sent by the Father to comfort, console and intercede on our behalf…Wow! How then could we fail. Life can throw as many curve balls as it may, but we have a helper, a consoler, a comforter. We are not alone! Did you catch that? Do you know that? The Spirit of God is with us…this is The Joy of a Spirit-Filled Life, we receive comfort, help and consoling when we need it, by the one and only Spirit of God. Wow!
