John 20:19-23 (NLT)
That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20 As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” 22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Just as man was first born way back in the day (in the garden at creation) by a breath of God, so now man is breathed fresh new Holy Ghost life into them at the birth of a new era. This is The Joy of a Spirit-Filled Life, that New Life is breathed into man afresh. With this breath of fresh air comes a whole new way of living and doing things. Think of the boys prior to this moment, then consider them after (the book of Acts is a great start), they were not the same. The Holy Spirit came upon them and everything changed. This is the reason I’m writing this devotional, to help you see, to hunger after, to desire more of the Spirit of the Living God, who changes everything and I do mean everything. So, please allow the Spirit of God to begin to work in you afresh and for fresh breaths of Heaven to begin to transform your life.
