3 John 1:3-4 (ESV) For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
And you know what…it’s not all that easy. To stay on the path of truth means sticking close to Christ who is the Truth and not only is He the Truth, He’s the Word. So if we want to stay on the path…well, we must stick close to Christ. This means moving away from those things that veer us off course. What those are tend to be uniquely personal to each person. There is no one size fits all answer. Some folk struggle with porn while others don’t give it a thought. Some will never have a drink, while others could with no struggle whatsoever. Some may fly off into fits of anger and others have never ever gone there. Recognizing what tempts you, what pulls you off course is half the battle, learning to overcome it, to not give in to it is another. Here’s the thing; learn to walk in the truth, to follow in our Saviors footprints and to keep His Word locked in our heart. When we do, we will soon find ourselves moving further and further away from old worldly patterns and drawing closer and closer toward Him who is the Truth.
