Colossians 4:2-6 (NLTse)
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. 5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
Prayer makes it possible to “live wisely among those who are not believers”. When we communion with God – spend some much-needed time with Him, His heart becomes melded with our hearts. Then John 3:16 begins to take root in you and you can’t help but want to live right before non-Christians and ensure your words and actions are in line with God’s way of doing things. The resurrected life cares about how well we represent the Father, after all, Corinthians says we are His Ambassadors. Thus, who we represent becomes a big deal to us. Not because we live our lives to please people or try to be seen by others, it’s just we understand that our representation of God matters. Devote yourselves then to prayer and watch God do marvelous things through you to a world that has lost its way.
