I Declare – If I truly want to spiritually develop into the person God wants me to be, I must learn to become content, for I brought nothing into this world and I can’t take anything with me when I leave. I refuse to be a person who falls prey to the temptation to be rich…that is, where my soul life’s dream is to get all I can and can all I get. Loving money is not for me. I don’t want to look back on my life and the only legacy I have is the money I’ve earned. No! I refuse to be a slave to cash…cash is my slave. Money doesn’t tell me what to do, I tell it what to do. Money does not rule my life, I rule money. Money, will not make me a tool, I’ll use money as a tool. Yes, I will be content with the abundance of dough I have and I will also be content even if I have little.

This is what I believe and boldly and confidently declare! (note: these “I declare” statements work best when confessed out loud)

1 Timothy 6:6-10 (ESV) But godliness with contentment is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
